Description: Bruckner composed his Requiem in 1849. It's dedicated to Franz Sailer, Bruckner's close friend, who had died suddenly of a heart attack year earlier. In 1847 Sailer bought a Bösendorfer grand and Bruckner enjoyed playing that beautiful instrument and declared :" If only I could afford to buy myself such a piano". Sailer had bequeathed the piano to Bruckner and so Bruckner became the owner of that fine instrument.
