Description: Well, not bad at all I would say. The adagio was very disappointing, but one hears very rarely convincing Bruckner adagio. It is said indeed that one has to be a magician to keep this beautiful adagio together. The scherzo was in my humble opinion the best movement on this performance and the end of the first movement thrilled me (brass !!!). The end of the Finale could have been more majestic and triumphant, it didn't "reach to heavens" as I would have hoped. But this was a fine experience, the public was enthusiastic and I will certainly go to Tampere again to hear Matthew Halls conducting Bruckner.
