Description: Not so triumphant, but good enough. These were my thoughts after the concert. Saraste started the symphony with pretty moderate tempo. Everything was clear. The adagio was again what disappointed most. It's useless to compare with Celibidache, but he really gave this adagio such deepness and beauty that other performances diisappoint. This beautiful Adagio would benefit so much on slower tempo, now it like travelled on the surface. The scherzo was quite mild, it didn't impress. But the Finale was in my opinion the best part of this performance, and left me a positive experience. Thank You Saraste and The Helsinki Philharmonic.!
