Description: Jesuit Church of St. Michael: " At the instigation of St. Michael's founder, Wilhelm V, a music gallery was built onto the inner wall of the south facade during the construction of the church, and in 1590 the first organ was installed. The fact that the Dutch musician Orlando di Lasso (d.1594), a friend of Wilhelm's, played here indicates the high esteem in which St. Michael's music was - and continues to be- held right up to the present day...

Description: ...The present 75-register organ was rebuilt by the Voralberg (Austria) organ builder Rieger in 2011 and extended to incorporate a "German Romantic" swell mechanism. The 17th-century case by Brother Hörmann SJ was retained, as were many of the pipes from the Sandtner organ (1982-83).
