Description: Susanna Mälkki's third Bruckner concert in Helsinki within a short time. For me those performances have been disappointing (especially the Eight), but now it's a new day and another symphony !

Description: The concert started with John Adams's Violin Concerto. It had some "groovy" parts for the violin (Leila Josefowicz was the soloist), but I found the concerto overall not very interesting. But maybe it in some ways suited well to couple Bruckner.

Description: Bruckner's charming Fourth by Helsinki Philharmonic with Susanna Mälkki . After very disappointing performance of Eight (the critics loved it however), this performance of Bruckner's Fourth gave me a positive impression. I even enjoyed it ! The relatively slow tempo gave a listener, at least me, time to breathe with music and enjoy the beauty of different instruments. Clarity and quality, expressivenes of sound was what came to my mind of this concert.
